In PAD™ Plus the laser diode light source and fibre optic delivery system of the earlier version (PAD SaveDent) have been replaced with state-of-the-art light emitting diodes (LEDs) delivering the same red light through a 7mm glass light guide rather than a delicate optical fibre. The increased light guide size allows larger surface areas to be treated in one exposure with no significant increase in heat generated.

Low cost, disposable plastic tip attachments allow access into root canals and deep periodontal pockets: carious lesions and other mouth infections are irradiated with a broader emission from the light guide alone. The unit has a much reduced footprint. It is easy to use, with activation of the light controlled by a finger switch on the pencil-grip hand piece.

Existing PAD™ SaveDent users need have no concerns about continuity of supply of treatment packs and disposable tips. This are available through Dexcel Dental in the UK or through your existing overseas distributor.
