Prophylaxis

Routine prophylaxis treatment does not remove
all bacteria in gingival or periodontal lesions.
Hence, patients can be given antiseptic solutions
or mouthwashes to use themselves which may
or may not be successful in preventing gingivitis
or more chronic periodontal infections.
